Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor
Salary: £19,612 (Full time equivalent £25,918). Hours: 33.75 hours per week, 5 days a week, term‑time only. Start date: September 2026.
Responsibilities
Appointed to support students facing a variety of challenges that affect their progress in the classroom. Resourceful, understanding and prepared to work both in the classroom and withdrawal situations, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy support if required. Serve as a mentor for a group of students or directed intervention for up to 45 minutes each morning and, when needed, supervise students during breaks and lunch times, offering structured activities. Work collaboratively with teachers, HLTA's and Learning Coaches in a flexible, creative and collegiate manner.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification; candidates without A‑Levels, a degree or a relevant Level 3 must enroll in the apprenticeship upon appointment.
