As the Senior Supervisor Procurement, you will be responsible for leading a local procurement team and overseeing the procurement processes for goods and services within the organization. You will lead the purchasing function to ensure the continuity of supply of all assigned goods and services. Support with the development of policies and strategies relating to the procurement of goods and services. You will provide direction and expertise to the procurement team, promote good procurement practices within the organization and ensure full compliance with statutory and corporate standards.
Specifically you will:
- Lead the purchasing team to plan goods and services purchased against demand plan, inventory levels as required based on requestors/stakeholder requirements and needs to ensure continuity of supply.
- Participate in cross functional project team activities to ensure that high value/long-term purchasing agreements are commercially sound and providing best value/lowest risk for the company.
- Identify alternative sources, and work in collaboration with stakeholders to introduce as applicable.
- Work together with the Change Management teams to ensure that new materials and changes are introduced in accordance with Quality and Regulatory requirements.
- Establish, develop, and maintain effective supplier relationships and hold regular review meetings to monitor supplier performance.
- Address and resolve any supplier-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
- Understand spend and identify and support the procurement team with cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals.
- Conduct routine market monitoring and business continuity assessment of suppliers and supply chains.
- Conduct and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies, supplier agreements, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance procurement efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Support team members in developing skills and competencies and actively encourage and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Support the use of best practice in procurement and supply chain processes and recommend appropriate strategies to ensure these are implemented and maintained.
- Support the development of strategies for the procurement of goods and services, both existing and new, to ensure appropriate sources are identified and continuity of supply is established.
- Develop, introduce, and apply strategies to minimize business risk within the procurement process including where appropriate the use of supplier agreements and disaster recovery planning for goods and services.
- Achieve agreed savings targets by challenging current cost base, benchmarking, and tender activity as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure audits and reviews are completed as required.
- In collaboration with the Global and Regional Procurement Teams, develop long term supplier partnerships for goods and services, developing where appropriate the suppliers' capability to meet the company's ongoing requirements.
- Adhere to appropriate inventory targets aligned to material volume plan to meet forward requirements and ensure continuity of supply.
- Minimize inventory holding by establishing and implementing innovative methods of inventory management such as end user call off and consignment stock to reduce cost and improve material flow as applicable.
- Provide a range of data and reports on procurement and inventory activity to allow management, budgetary and expense reviews to be carried out.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
About you: We are looking for someone who has the following experience:
- Purchasing one or more of the following: Indirect/Non-product and or Direct/Product goods and services required.
- Previous experience in a Packaging Procurement environment is essential.
- Managed a small team of people.
- Preferably have had exposure to Oracle.
- Previous procurement and supply chain experience within a relevant industry such as pharmaceutical, medical device or fine chemicals is preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing supplier improvement frameworks, leading to significant performance improvements and cost savings.
- Must have experience of buying goods and services within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Must understand Supply Chain and ERP / MRP systems as a system user.
- Preferable to have experience within a regulated industry.
