Recently merging with a Berlin-based venture capital firm, they are strengthening its presence in Europe\βs dynamic tech ecosystem. They are seeking a skilled and diligent Finance Manager to manage the accounting functions for the VC-Fund, the German subsidiary, and the UK Subsidiary. This role focuses on ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency while working towards internalizing accounting tasks over time to reduce reliance on external service providers. The position is based in (optional) London, UK, or Berlin, Germany. What the job involves
- Performing preparatory accounting tasks for the VC-Fund, the German subsidiary, and the UK entity
- Conducting monthly financial closes for the entities mentioned above
- Managing accounts payable for the VC-Fund, the German subsidiary, and the UK entity
- Carrying out quarterly US GAAP reconciliations
- Managing expense reporting and preparing monthly US reporting packages
- Leading audit processes for the VC-Fund and the UK entity
- Collaborating with external accountants to streamline tasks, with the intention of internalizing more accounting functions over time
- Optimizing accounting workflows and processes for efficiency
- Handling ad hoc projects related to the finance function (e.g., T&E studies)
Who we are looking for
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or relevant field with excellent grades
- Several years of work experience in accounting
- Proficiency in DATEV and NetSuite accounting software systems
- Strong knowledge of both German GAAP and US GAAP
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver accurate financial information
- A self-starter with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently
- Highly diligent and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively across departments
- Ability to balance tactical execution with strategic financial insight
- Fluency in both German and English
