Senior Womenswear Designer to lead the development of innovative, high‑performance product for the
Craghoppers brand.
In this key role, you will shape and deliver compelling womenswear ranges that blend style, functionality, and sustainability – ensuring every design reflects our brand identity, meets the highest standards of quality, and is delivered in line with critical calendar milestones.

- Research
- Collaborate with buying and product teams to ensure products meet strategic direction and price targets.
- Create concepts, fashion sketch ideas, shape silhouettes, and explore fabric and trim choices that push the collection forward.
- Research trends, references, and cultural shifts to keep the collection directional, relevant, and commercially aware, ensuring product aligns with the brand’s strategy.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of the market, key trends and competitors’ offerings.
- Create working designs to establish handwriting for each season while considering performance and function.
- Identify and meet customer requirements through close collaboration with relevant business areas.
- Work within branding guidelines to ensure products remain synonymous with Craghoppers identity while retaining a creative and directional flair.
- Colour & Pattern
- Create trend‑led commercial seasonal colour palettes that are relevant to our market.
- Keep the team updated on the latest colour trends.
- Responsible for buying colour standards and creating palettes in PLM.
- Generate print and graphic direction and artwork where required.
- Design Development
- Drive the creative process from research through to final design: mood boards, sketches, colour stories, silhouettes, CADs, and refinement for all womenswear categories.
- Collaborate with a skilled technical and product development team to evolve ideas into fully functional product using CLO 3D design software.
- Ensure designs are coloured up in CLO 3D and ready for development.
- Create and maintain seasonal range plans in Illustrator and PLM.
- Select and develop new fabrics in partnership with the buying team where appropriate.
- Communicate clearly with buying and product development to ensure changes are understood throughout the development cycle.
- Strategy
- Bring clarity and inspiration to presentations, communicating your vision with confidence.
- Prepare high‑standard strategy reviews.
- Collate cross‑gender consistency with menswear design.
- Present collections confidently at internal and external meetings.
- Adhere to corporate calendar deadlines.

Qualifications
- Design qualification to degree level.

- 7+ years of senior design experience for a branded company across multiple categories, with significant outerwear focus.
- Experience in range planning, sales analysis and SKU management.
- Technical specification building, strong graphic skills, and comprehensive garment knowledge.
- People management and presentation skills.
- A refined fashion handwriting and keen eye for shape, proportion and detail.
- Strong sketching, illustration and CAD abilities.
- Confident, collaborative and comfortable working with product developers and technical specialists.
- Portfolio demonstrating contemporary fashion design with robust outerwear pieces.
- Computer literate with full understanding of Adobe Illustrator, In Design, CAD software, Excel, Centric PLM (or equivalent) and CLO 3D Design.
