The Red House is an independent open plan Nursery for children aged 2 to 4+ years with a diverse teaching team of Early Years Teachers and Early Years Practitioners. The post is for an Early Years Practitioner who preferably holds a relevant level 3 or higher qualification and/or has recent experience working in an Early Years setting.

The post is an all‑year round, full time position, to be worked over 5 days (9am to 5pm), with a weekly day out. The ideal candidate will have had experience of high quality, child‑led Early Years practice and will be able to actively contribute to the environment and pedagogy of the setting. An enthusiasm and willingness to work as part of a team in an open plan environment will be an essential characteristic of any successful candidate.

Consistently graded as an 'outstanding' setting by Ofsted, The Red House is an open plan learning environment that is filled with diverse and challenging resources, for example real musical instruments, clay, sewing machines and woodwork, and a dedicated art studio. Our 5 main curriculum focus areas are Gardening and nature, Music, Movement, Story‑telling and Art, with a particular attention to naturally occurring resources, and strong bonds with the local community. We strive to seize the opportunities offered by our outside environment with daily outings and outdoor learning experiences.

The Red House team constantly engages with educational research, both our own and others', ensuring that everyone who works with us is challenged and inspired by original ideas and alternative ways of re‑thinking Early Years practice. If you are motivated to constantly reflect on your practice - constantly re‑imagine your pedagogy by working collaboratively with children and colleagues then you will be interested in joining our team.
