Opportunities available for a role tailored to suit the right applicant. We are looking for up to 10 GP sessions, with flexible combinations considered. Main duties of the job:
  • Provide general medical services, contraception services and maternity services for our patients.
  • To provide care for a designated list of patients, being their named Doctor.
  • To offer continuity of care through appropriate follow up, careful record keeping and liaison with Partners and other Associates.
  • To refer patients to secondary care services appropriately, both for routine and emergency care.
  • To work with all members of the primary care healthcare team in a supportive and constructive manner to achieve the best possible care for patients.

A strong PCN with real opportunities. We are part of a well-functioning Primary Care Network, Waterside PCN, delivering a high-quality Urgent Care Centre, a home visiting service, and an Enhanced Care Team. We benefit from excellent access to First Contact Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Health and Wellbeing and Pharmacy teams, allowing GPs to focus on what they do best. There are also genuine opportunities for the successful candidate to become involved in PCN leadership and senior roles, helping shape services across the network.

Job responsibilities:
  • The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by GP Partner or Salaried GPs are varied and will differ from time to time under the direction of the Partners and/or Practice Manager, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels.
  • Provide care for a list size in the region of 1800 patients FTE. You will be their named Doctor.
  • Attend all clinical team meetings, on average once or twice per month.
  • Management of pathology and imaging results and associated tasks.
  • Completion of medicines management within appropriate time frame, i.e. prescriptions.
  • Appropriate management of workflow regarding patients on your list.
  • To see 30 patients each full day.
  • Carry out visits for your patient population. Visits will be allocated by the Duty Doctor and will take into account needs of all Doctors and GP trainees. If appropriate, it may be that a visit for your patient will be carried out by a trainee.
  • A laptop and remote log-in will be provided in order for you to carry out appropriate administrative tasks whilst away from the surgery.
Person Specification:
  • Must be a fully qualified GMC Doctor.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
