The role:

We are working with a well-established and expanding manufacturing business in Wrexham to recruit a Production Planner. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this is a hands-on role with time evenly divided between the office and the shop floor. The successfully appointed Production Planner will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of production across multiple machines, helping to maximise efficiency and meet customer delivery requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within production planning and operations.

Production Planner responsibilities:

  • Daily planning and scheduling of production across 5 machines.
  • Organising incoming work to ensure all machines remain fully utilised.
  • Monitoring progress to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
  • Coordinating finished goods in line with daily delivery schedules.
  • Supporting the Production Manager with planning and operational tasks.
  • Learning machine processes over time to assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Production Planner requirements:

  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • Keen to learn and develop technical knowledge of machinery and processes.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production planning, or logistics.
  • Ability to use a bespoke ERP/MRP system.
  • FLT licence would be useful but not essential.
