We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a successful Food Manufacturing business based in Newtown, Powys. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, supporting the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of site machinery and equipment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production reliability by carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective solutions across mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:

  • Maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs
  • Supporting installation, improvement, and development projects
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety, and food industry standards
  • Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve site performance

The Candidate:

  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills
  • Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar production environment would be advantageous
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities
  • A proactive approach with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
