We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a successful Food Manufacturing business based in Newtown, Powys. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, supporting the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of site machinery and equipment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production reliability by carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective solutions across mechanical and electrical systems.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:
- Maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
- Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs
- Supporting installation, improvement, and development projects
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety, and food industry standards
- Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve site performance
The Candidate:
- Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills
- Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar production environment would be advantageous
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities
- A proactive approach with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
