An experienced Administrator is required to provide high quality, professional administrative support within a busy faculty environment. The post holder will manage a wide range of general office tasks, support senior faculty staff, and ensure the smooth running of administrative processes.

Responsibilities of the Administrator:

  • Provide a high quality administration service, including responding to phone calls and emails, preparing documents, organising meetings, arranging travel, and maintaining secure files.
  • Deliver full diary management, ensuring internal and external commitments are scheduled effectively.
  • Offer accurate clerking support to committees and working groups, preparing agendas, papers, and minutes.
  • Ensure that senior faculty members are kept up to date with relevant matters, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Review and handle correspondence and enquiries, making sound judgements to resolve queries or direct them appropriately.
  • Process, record, and monitor requisitions, purchases, and expenses in line with financial regulations.
  • Manage general office duties such as filing, mail handling, and responding promptly to staff, students, clients, and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate staff records including sickness, absence, and leave, and support the development of electronic record systems.
  • Ensure office systems and archives are kept up to date and compliant with organisational protocols.

The Candidate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including word processing and general system knowledge.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work confidentially and professionally at all times.
  • Ability to use own initiative as well as work effectively within a team.
  • Good experience of working within a busy office environment.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential; however, a respect for Welsh cultural heritage is important.
