Our client is based in Brighton and runs a large block of student accommodation that caters for overseas students (over and under 18 years of age). They seek a Maintenance Manager to take charge of the facilities and oversee the day-to-day operations, be it planned or reactive.
Day-to-day, the Maintenance Manager could be undertaking minor plumbing and electrics, painting and decorating, or looking after the broader Health, Safety and Fire Regulation and Compliance requirements associated with running an accommodation block. Subsequently, you will need to be on top of the routine administration and the finances that go with this role.
More importantly, the successful candidate will need to be a team player capable of working with a variety of stakeholders. They will need to demonstrate an ability to be front and centre with students, contribute to a vibrant community, and make all students feel welcome and safe.
The successful candidate needs to have knowledge in facilities management (including electrical and plumbing systems), DIY, and decorating. You will ideally have some IT skills as well.
Hours of work are typically Monday to Friday 8am-4pm / 9am-5pm. A salary of £32k per annum is provided.
