An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a leading student accommodation provider in Brighton. This role will support the General Manager in the day-to-day operation of a busy student residence, helping to deliver an exceptional student experience while maintaining high operational, safeguarding and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the overall management of the residence
- Assist with safeguarding and student wellbeing responsibilities
- Lead on customer service and community engagement
- Support and supervise housekeeping and operational teams
- Assist with check-ins, inspections, health & safety and compliance
- Participate in an on-call emergency response rota
- Deputise for the General Manager when required
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within student accommodation, residential, hospitality or similar environments
- Strong customer service and people management skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and student welfare
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of health & safety and building operations preferred
Hours of work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm – but weekend work will be required a couple of times when students arrive/depart. The Deputy Manager will also be part of the on-call rota and would need to be available alternative weeks for an emergency situation (typically when student welfare is a concern).
