A well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to support continued growth and customer development.

This is a key position within the business, responsible for managing commercial activities across estimating, customer relationships, pricing strategy, project coordination, and contract management. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, customers, suppliers, and production teams to ensure projects are commercially successful, delivered efficiently, and aligned with business objectives.

The Role

  • Lead the estimating and quotation process for precision machined components and assemblies
  • Review customer enquiries, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine manufacturing costs and project viability
  • Manage customer relationships and act as the main commercial contact throughout projects
  • Oversee contract reviews and ensure all technical and commercial requirements are captured accurately
  • Support project planning, delivery, and profitability monitoring
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontract partners regarding materials and outsourced processes
  • Identify opportunities for margin improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency
  • Work closely with production and leadership teams to support business growth and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical and commercial guidance across the business where required

About You

  • Strong background within precision engineering, CNC machining, or manufacturing
  • Experience in estimating, commercial management, account management, or project management within an engineering environment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
  • Commercially aware with strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Confident managing customer relationships and handling multiple projects
  • Positive, hands-on approach with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
