Salary: £12.71 per hour + 13.25% Shift Allowance

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Afternoon Shift:

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:30pm - 12:00am
  • Friday: 12:00pm - 6:00pm

Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business, is looking to recruit a Heat Treatment Operative to join their production team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in heat treatment, hardness testing, or heavy manufacturing who enjoys working in a hands-on production environment. Candidates with Overhead Crane and Forklift Truck (FLT) licences are particularly encouraged to apply.

Working as part of an experienced team, you'll play an important role in ensuring components are prepared, processed and handled safely while maintaining the highest quality standards.

The Role

As a Heat Treatment Operative, you'll support the day-to-day running of the heat treatment department, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining quality, efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and prepare heat treatment loads for processing.
  • Break down completed heat treatment loads safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out transport and material handling activities across the department.
  • Perform work inspections and support quality control processes.
  • Complete hardness testing where required.
  • Undertake administration and production record-keeping tasks accurately.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks to move materials safely.
  • Provide cover and support for the Heat Treatment Operator when required.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the work area.
  • Follow all Health and Safety regulations.
