Do you have an administrative background with a desire to gain experience in the legal sector? We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Legal Administrator to join our client's busy and supportive Private Client team in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a well-established legal practice and work closely with experienced fee earners on matters including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate, and Estate Administration. A genuine interest in these areas will be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing full secretarial and administrative support to fee earners and the wider team
- Audio typing of legal documents and correspondence
- Drafting letters and legal documents using templates and precedents
- File opening, document production, filing, archiving, and document retrieval
- Managing incoming/outgoing post, photocopying, scanning, and email management
- Handling client enquiries by phone and in person with professionalism and empathy
- Scheduling meetings and managing diaries
- Assisting with monthly billing, diarising payments, and follow-up actions
- Carrying out additional administrative tasks as required
Skills, Experience & Attributes:
- Degree in Business Administration or similar (Not Law as this role will be solely administrative)
- Administrative experience, and the desire to work in a legal environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Friendly and approachable, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Discreet, trustworthy, and sensitive to client confidentiality
