We are working with a leading organisation in the building systems and engineering sector to recruit an experienced Field Operations Supervisor to support and develop service engineering teams across multiple northern regions. Applicants must have hands-on experience as an Automatic Door Technician and knowledge of automatic sliding, swing, revolving and safety door systems. Approximately 40k dependant on experience. Training can be provided for supervisory duties.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing field-based technical teams, ensuring service delivery remains consistent, compliant, and customer-focused. You will act as a mentor, auditor, trainer, and technical escalation point, with regular travel and close collaboration with regional offices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and assessing technician capability, performance, and working practices
- Carrying out structured audits covering HSQE, RAMS, PPE, vehicles, tools, plant, and stock
- Delivering formal and informal training
- Identifying skills gaps and creating tailored development plans
- Supporting technical escalations and providing expertise to service teams and offices
- Conducting site-based audits across multiple regions
- Assisting with estimating, office support, and operational tasks when required
- Supporting IT systems and digital tools used by field engineers
- Acting as first-line escalation for out-of-hours call-out activity on a rota basis
- Researching and proposing new training initiatives to add value to the business
- Maintaining strong communication between geographically spread teams
The Field Operations Supervisor will require:
- Extensive hands-on experience as an Automatic Door Technician
- Proven technical knowledge of automatic sliding, swing, revolving and safety door systems
- Experience working within the construction industry
- Proven background in coaching or training technical teams
- Confident delivering technical information clearly
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently
- Professional, positive approach with excellent communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required
