We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dock Worker to join our client\’s team based at Immingham Docks, one of the UK’s busiest ports. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cargo, while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Cargo Handling: Safely load, unload, move, and secure cargo, including containers, bulk cargo, and other materials, following company and port procedures.
- Equipment Operation: Operate dockside equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and other machinery as required.
- Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment and report any issues or damages to the appropriate personnel.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, including IOSH Cargo Handling standards or equivalent.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of dock workers, supervisors, and logistics personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain records of cargo movements and handling activities.
- Work Environment: Perform duties in outdoor conditions, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
