We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our clients finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and strong financial controls across the business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys ownership of the numbers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to be part of a business with an evolving group structure. Experience producing management accounts, managing the nominal ledger, and supporting month-end processes is essential. Experience with consolidated accounts is highly advantageous.

The Role

  • Maintain accurate financial records using Access Financials across multiple divisions
  • Manage the nominal ledger, ensuring all entries are complete and accurate
  • Prepare and support monthly management accounts and reporting
  • Complete month-end routines, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process invoices, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Maintain debtor accounts, including set-up and archiving non-traders
  • Cash posting and allocation of payments on account
  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with HMRC submissions
  • Support budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
  • Prepare detailed P&L and balance sheet schedules
  • Review and manage purchase order requests
  • Collate weekly and monthly sales figures
  • Complete sales ledger month-end routines, including customer statements
  • Utilise the business non-conformance register
  • Set up new supplier accounts
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting
  • Identify and support process improvements within the finance function
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the business to improve cost and operational efficiency

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in nominal ledger management and month-end accounting
  • Proven experience producing full management accounts
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload independently
  • Confident communicator, able to work with non-finance colleagues

Desirable Experience

  • Experience preparing or assisting with consolidated accounts
  • Experience using Access Financials or similar accounting systems
  • Background in logistics, transport, or supply-chain environments
  • AAT qualified, studying towards CIMA / ACCA, or qualified by experience
