Location: Birmingham

Start times: Between 3:00pm and approximately 7:30pm
The Recruitment Group is currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for straightforward night trunking work based in Birmingham.
This position involves refrigerated trunking between locations, with no loading or unloading required. It would suit a reliable Class 1 Driver looking for uncomplicated A-to-B driving and regular evening or night starts.
Key responsibilities
- Completing refrigerated Class 1 trunking runs
- Driving safely between designated collection and delivery points
- Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
- Completing all required paperwork accurately
- Following planned routes and delivery schedules
- Complying with drivers’ hours and Working Time regulations
- Reporting any delays, defects or incidents promptly
- Maintaining professional standards while representing the client
The ideal candidate
You will need:
- A valid UK LGV/HGV Class 1 licence
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 1 driving experience
- A good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
- A reliable and professional approach
- The ability to work evening and night shifts
- An acceptable driving record, subject to licence checks
Previous refrigerated or trunking experience would be helpful, although the uncomplicated nature of the work may suit drivers from a range of Class 1 backgrounds.
