A well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to support ongoing growth and high-quality manufacturing operations.

This is a hands-on role focused on manufacturing quality, customer liaison, inspection processes, and continuous improvement within a modern machining environment. The successful candidate will work closely with production, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are maintained across complex machined components and assemblies.

The Role
  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing quality activities and support production teams
  • Interpret engineering drawings and determine appropriate inspection methods
  • Produce inspection reports and customer quality documentation
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints using 8D / 5 Why methodologies
  • Support internal, supplier, and process audits
  • Liaise directly with customers and suppliers regarding quality-related matters
  • Assist with calibration systems and inspection equipment management
  • Create quality control plans and manufacturing quality instructions
  • Train operators on inspection methods and measurement equipment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing processes
About You
  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within precision engineering or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques and engineering drawings
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical engineering background or apprenticeship preferred
  • Experience with CMM programming and PC-DMIS would be highly advantageous

  • CMM programming (Hexagon / PC-DMIS)
  • Internal or supplier auditing
  • Aerospace, defence, oil & gas, or high-specification manufacturing environments
  • Quality documentation and customer reporting packs
