Purchasing Manager * £39,000 per annum * Established and well-respected company * Excellent working environment * Has a credible record of long-term staff members We are working with an established manufacturer in Oldham who are looking for Purchasing Manager who will oversee the carrying out the process of buying materials, parts and services. The Job * Identify appropriate suppliers and maintain an accurate and well-maintained list of approved suppliers. * Monitor the performance of suppliers and make recommendations for corrective actions or change. * Procure materials, parts etc. in line with the MRP demands and specific individual requirements. * Obtain the best price at any one time, or negotiate acceptable prices for material, parts and services. * Process any purchase orders and raise the necessary documentation, including where appropriate, the current engineering drawings. * Plan the release of internal works orders so that we can achieve customer delivery dates. * Schedule work on key resources and monitor the performance against these schedules. * Advise available to promise dates for customer orders. * Assist in the maintenance and development of the UNITY system, including the generation of parts details on the computer system. * Follow Company Quality Control procedures i.e. ISO9001 & ISO13485. * Management of a small stores team * Determine and record key supply chain KPI’s * Coordinate with production department/technical department on stock requirements * Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications About you * Experience as a purchasing manager within an engineering environment * Strong negotiation skills * Management experience with the ability to lead and support * Proficient in Microsoft office and MRP systems * Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management * Ability to work independently For more information, please send your CV, in confidence, to James at The Recruitment Fix
