Our client, a well-established and reputable commercial vehicle workshop, is seeking a talented HGV/Van Technician to join their team.
The Job
- Diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of vehicles to DVSA standards, always achieving a first-time fix.
- Prepare and present vehicles for their annual MOT tests, minimising failures to achieve a 100% pass rate.
- Attend vehicle breakdowns to effect repairs at roadside where possible, on a rota for out of hours coverage.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all health and safety, environmental and recycling policies, plus all internal policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure work areas are clean and tidy to comply with company standards and manufacturer standards.
- Ensure all failed parts are returned to the relevant department.
- Carry out ad-hoc duties when required.
About you
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician is essential.
- Must have own tools.
- Be apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
- Hold a full UK driving licence; Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.
