On behalf of our client, who are an award-winning engineering specialist company in the wastewater and hydro-electric generator markets, and part of a well-established international operating company, we are recruiting for a highly motivated and ambitious Mechanical Engineer to join their existing team. The Mechanical Engineer will be based in their Main Offices and will be expected to visit various sites from time to time. The successful candidate will take real responsibility for technical elements of a wide variety of projects. The Mechanical Engineer will be fully supported by our experienced team to grow and develop your skills as well as knowledge of our products.
The Job
- Design and procure mechanical parts, such as components of bearing assemblies, guarding, lubrication systems etc.
- Prepare drawings for layouts and lifting of equipment
- Carry out technical assessments of screw pump bearings and write up reports.
- Arrange quotes for refurbishment and repair of equipment
- Organise and order parts for projects
In addition, you'll need the following:
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar – at apprenticeship, HNC/D or graduate level
- Experience of AutoCAD or equivalent drawing packages.
- Ability to improve processes, and work effectively with others to implement changes.
- Close attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with clients and suppliers
Hours of Work are rotating shifts Monday-Friday.
In return the company offers a very competitive salary circa £30,000 per annum + excellent benefits including a generous defined contribution pension and medical insurance, along with secure and interesting employment.
