Leading specialist manufacturer with global presence. Our client, based in Oldham, has a reputation for innovation and they consistently lead in their chosen industry sector. They have enjoyed continued growth in both the domestic and export markets and have a strong order book and an exciting future.

Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit a Junior Production Planner to support their existing team. Working in a small team duties will include:

  • Plan and prepare production schedules in order to meet business and customer demands
  • General control and housekeeping of Production Work Orders/Route Cards
  • Responsible for establishing and communicating daily work priorities to Managers & Shopfloor
  • Responsible for raising job cards for shopfloor
  • Effective capacity management of production, material and labour resources
  • Creation of new manufacturing codes and associated BoM information
  • Maintain and communicate department KPI’s
  • Proactively seek and implement improvements to the Production planning and execution processes using Aptian, Unity MRP system.
  • General administrative duties for the Production Department
  • Sales Administration duties, raising sales order, liaising with customer and organisation of despatch.

About You

  • Planning experience within a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
  • Proactive approach
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritise
  • Proven problem solver
  • Competent in use of Microsoft packages Excel and Word
  • A knowledge of MRP systems would be beneficial
  • Experience of building of BoM for planning advantageous
