Electrical Design Engineer in Greenfield

On behalf of our client, an award winning manufacturer, we are recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy Technical Department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of developing new ideas from Concept through to production.

The Job Role

• Designing products from concept through to production release to a given specification, agreed timescales and to company Quality Management System (QMS)
• Work within a multi-disciplined development team environment and use your own initiative to achieve the project requirements
• Electrical schematic layout designs
• Generate detailed technical documentation (Drawings, BOMs, manuals, etc.)
• Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs
• Reduce product costs by re‑designing existing products
• Assist production/service engineers when requested
• Collaborate fully with production engineering on new product launch.
• Design testing criteria
• Produce ECN\’s for design updates or changes

Educated to Minimum HNC qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline, and along with a strong design background, ideally you will have the following skills and experience;

• Proven previous electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment
• Fully competent to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics and produce electrical design calculations
• The ability and willingness to work \’hands on\’ to assist fault finding on electrical systems
• Working industry knowledge of Electrical Design Software with the ability to create/edit electrical schematics and produce BOMs
• Understanding & knowledge of PLC systems
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills while working with other departments
• A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, and the ability to work alone and as part of a team
