Our client is a reputable manufacturer in Heywood and due to continued growth are looking for an Electrical Installation Supervisor.
The Job
- Provide adequate and cost-effective technical support
- Ensure jobs are completed on time and deviations from original contract are reported to the installation manager
- Site personnel are utilised effectively to ensure efficient job progress
- Maximise efficient use of materials and stock
- Maintain adequate levels of performance and behaviour from all site personnel
- Review site documentation and ensure that it is being completed correctly and assist when required
- Report on site personnel to assist in employee appraisal
- Prepare quotations from client’s documentation under the guidance of the installation manager
- Prepare site/electrical documentation i.e. material lists, cable schedules etc when required
- Install cable containment
- Mount mechanical equipment (i.e. Isolators, JB’s etc)
- Run and clip cables
- Gland cables using stuffing glands and all industrial type glands
- Make final terminations as per cable schedules or schematics
- Earth plant equipment in accordance with BS7671
- Test the electrical installation on completion to BS7671/NICEIC standards
- Test electrical control panels
About you
- Registered apprentice or undergone some equivalent method of training
- NVQ level 3 in electrical installation work (or approved equivalent)
- City and Guilds 2391 test and inspection in electrical testing (or approved equivalent)
- At least 5 years ‘hands on’ experience working on industrial electrical installations
- Must have a working knowledge of the national working rules for the electrical contracting industry, the current I.E.E. regulations for electrical installations and the construction industry safety regulations.
- Health and Safety Training (i.e. CSCS or ECS)
- IPAF Training
- Communication, team working and interpersonal skills
