A successful specialist engineering company in Rochdale, renowned throughout the world for engineering excellence for quality and precision products, is looking for an assistant planner to join the team.
Duties will include:
- Daily processing and management of shop floor orders
- Ensuring materials are issued and booked to stock
- Act as key communicator and point of contact between shop floor, commercial team and planning
- Manage and maintain agreed stock levels of selected components
Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day planning activities
- Ensuring all WIP is booked correctly
- Ensure schedules are printed and with machine at the start of the week
- Help manage manufacturing NCRs to adjust MOs to resolve live issues
- Review new part numbers MRP settings
- Support capacity planning
- Review new customer orders and confirm dates to sales/customer
Skills, knowledge & experience required for the role:
- Basic engineering knowledge
- Basic knowledge of machining processes
- ERP proficiency - SAP
- Excel and Word proficient
- Effective communication skills
- Analytical skills
- Understanding of planning principles - MRP
- Preactor would be beneficial although training would be provided
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 06.00am - 2.30pm, Friday 06.00am to 11.30am with flexibility to meet business demand when required. Upon completion of training, some hybrid working would be available.
In return, offering a competitive salary dependent on experience c33k + 33 days holidays, company pension etc.
