On behalf of our client, an award winning manufacturer, we are recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy Technical Department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of developing new ideas from Concept through to production.
The Job Role:
- Designing products from concept through to production release to a given specification, agreed timescales and to company Quality Management System (QMS)
- Work within a multi-disciplined development team environment and use your own initiative to achieve the project requirements
- Electrical schematic layout designs
- Generate detailed technical documentation (Drawings, BOMs, manuals, etc.)
- Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs
- Reduce product costs by re-designing existing products
- Assist production/service engineers when requested
- Collaborate fully with production engineering on new product launch
- Design testing criteria
- Produce ECNs for design updates or changes
Educated to Minimum HNC qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline, and along with a strong design background, ideally you will have the following skills and experience:
- Proven previous electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment
- Fully competent to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics and produce electrical design calculations
- The ability and willingness to work hands on to assist fault finding on electrical systems
- Working industry knowledge of Electrical Design Software with the ability to create/edit electrical schematics and produce BOMs
- Understanding & knowledge of PLC systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills while working with other departments
- A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, and the ability to work alone and as part of a team
