£31,700pa (min 10 hours paid whilst working away). Established and well-respected company. Standard hours of work Monday to Friday 8am-4pm.

Our client, based in Tameside, has a reputation for innovation and they consistently lead in their chosen industry sector. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Fitter to join their team. The purpose of the role is to maintain, install and modify Switchgear and be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams.

Key duties:

  • Installation and maintenance of electrical switchgear up to and including 33kV
  • Installation of cable management systems (trays and trunking)
  • Installation and termination of multi-core cables
  • Ferrule identification and crimping of cores
  • Understanding of cable block diagrams, cable schedules and termination schedules (the ability to read schematic drawings is also preferential)
  • Mounting and installing a variety of components
  • Carrying out installations in accordance with design and legislation
  • Completion of documentation
  • Liaising with site managers/project engineers
  • Escalating and reporting issues to the site manager where required
  • Undertaking work in accordance with work package plans, method statements, and risk assessments
  • Reporting all safety and environmental incidents and accidents

To be considered for this position the successful candidate must have:

  • Electrical installations experience in an industrial and renewable setting
  • At least a level two vocational qualification in an electrical subject (desirable)
  • Must hold valid CSCS Card and first aid certificate
  • CITB or CCNSG safety passport card
  • IPAF/PASMA
  • Awareness of the Electricity at Work Regulations
  • Able to read electrical schematics at a basic level
  • Keen to work in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Manual handling training
  • Emergency First Aid Training
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Flexible approach to travelling hours and work location
  • Full UK driving licence
