A leading specialist manufacturer with a global presence, based in Oldham, has a reputation for innovation and consistently leads in their chosen industry sector. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Assembler & Test Engineer to join their team.
The role is primarily focused on electrical and functional testing, fault diagnosis, and regulatory compliance, with assembly and production support activities undertaken where required.
Key duties include:
- Carrying out the electrical assembly of parts, sub-assemblies, and products in line with the requirements of engineering drawings.
- Preparing products for testing, including powering up products and carrying out pre-test safety checks.
- Undertaking electrical panel wiring and control system assembly in accordance with engineering drawings and wiring schedules.
- Carrying out mechanical assembly, sub-assemblies, and complete units where required.
- Supporting production builds to ensure products are completed on time, to specification, and to quality standards.
- Following Company Quality Control procedures (i.e. ISO9001 2015).
- Testing products in line with Company procedures.
- Maintaining production in line with the production plan and instructions from the departmental supervisor/planner.
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance to plant and equipment where appropriate.
- Occasional site work.
To be considered for this position, the successful candidate must have:
- Proven experience in electrical testing and fault-finding of electromechanical equipment.
- Electrical panel wiring and control system experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance requirements.
- Experience working within a structured production or test environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- 18th Edition certification is absolutely an advantage!
