A reputable company in Manchester is recruiting for a CNC Programmer with Powermill experience.
The Job:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using Autodesk Powermill for precision machining.
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to create efficient toolpaths.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
- Produce accompanying detailed operator setup sheets.
- Conduct test runs and adjust programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with machinists to refine machining processes.
- Troubleshoot machine errors and optimize performance.
- Use Powershape to create jigs/fixtures and other holding to aid programming.
- Apply strict revision control of all types of data throughout.
- Work in accordance with the constraints of an ISO 9001 and AS9100 accredited manufacturing environment.
About you:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Powermill and Powershape; Fusion 360 may be beneficial.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining principles.
- Up to date with multi-axis machining techniques, tooling, and tool path strategies on 3-axis & 5-axis CNC machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Problem-solving skills for optimizing machining efficiency.
- Understanding of material properties, machining, and setup techniques in sympathy of collision avoidance.
- Previous exposure to working in adherence to ISO9001 & AS9100 requirements.
- Capability to thrive in a low volume/high mix production department.
- Ability to achieve UK security clearance is essential.
- Minimum of NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification/time-served apprenticeship.
