We are working on behalf of an award-winning and growing company who is seeking to recruit an experienced Sales Ledger Clerk to join their established Finance department of 8. The successful candidate will be working as part of the finance team alongside 2 Purchase Ledger Clerks and 1 other Sales Ledger Clerk. You will be responsible for managing their active accounts for nearly 2000 customers. The majority pay monthly by direct debit, but you will handle the remaining 20% handling queries, credit control and allocating cash. This is a position working Monday to Friday full time in their modern office environment. The working hours are 9 am until 5.30 pm. Free parking is available at their offices.
Role and responsibilities:
- As a Sales Ledger Clerk you will be working in a busy finance department with core responsibility for the Sales Ledger and Credit Control
- Responsible for raising regular and adhoc sales invoices
- Handling customer queries and requests professionally
- Process direct debit collection files
- Collect outstanding debt by phone, email and if required through external agencies
- Posting and allocating cash
- Managing credit control
- Supporting with producing MI for the Finance Manager or Finance Director as required
- General accounts administration duties such as filing and archiving invoices
Skills and experience required:
- Proven work history within a busy Accounts or Finance department essential
- Experience of managing Sales Ledger or Credit Control essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential
- Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment adhering to deadlines
- Positive, proactive and enthusiastic mentality
