We are working on behalf of an established organisation who are looking to recruit an experienced HR Adviser to join their HR department. This is a fixed term contract for a minimum of 12 months to cover maternity leave, with the potential to cover up to 15 months.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and people-focused HR professional to play a key role in supporting managers and colleagues across 6 Group businesses supporting 400 employees. As HR Adviser, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day support on employee relations matters, ensuring policies and procedures are created/updated and applied consistently, and partnering with managers to deliver effective people solutions. The role is varied and hands-on, combining operational HR support with involvement including L&D sourcing training courses to meet employee needs and managing the employee benefits programme.
This is a full time office based role working Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm with half hour lunch.
- As an HR Adviser, you will be responsible for supporting line managers with day-to-day employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with company policy and employment legislation.
- Acting as HR representative in formal meetings including disciplinary, grievance and capability processes.
- Handling employee relations matters such as flexible working requests, absence management and contract changes.
- Building strong working relationships across the 6 Group business areas and attending relevant meetings to understand operational needs.
- Coaching and guiding managers through HR processes to ensure best practice and consistency.
- Supporting delivery of the people strategy including L&D initiatives, sourcing training courses to meet needs following appraisal reviews.
- Contributing to the review and development of HR policies in line with legislative changes and business needs.
- Producing quarterly HR reports with analysis and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Managing employee benefits programme and renewals for BUPA and life assurance.
- Promoting a positive employee relations culture aligned with company values.
- Working collaboratively with other UK sites, with occasional travel required once a quarter to other locations.
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience within as a HR Assistant, HR Advisor, HR Adviser or generalist HR position essential.
- Experience handling employee relations cases end-to-end essential.
- Experience handling contract changes desirable.
- CIPD Level 3 qualified or working towards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Proactive, approachable and solutions-focused.
- Confident working independently and as part of a small team of 3.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
