We are supporting a well-established, values-led business to recruit an experienced HR Advisor to join their People team of 4 based at their UK head office in Shirley, Solihull. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting over 400 colleagues across multiple locations, promoting best practice and positive employee relations throughout the business.
This role offers full ownership of day-to-day HR Advisory responsibilities, acting as a trusted support to managers across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Alongside business-as-usual HR activity, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to key HR projects and help drive continuous improvement across processes, policies and systems. The organisation is committed to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where colleagues are encouraged to grow and develop.
This role requires a HR Advisor with the ability to problem solve and work collaboratively with managers and employees in a people-focused manner. This is not a high volume HR transactional position. Please note this is a full-time office-based position.
Key responsibilities as a HR Advisor:
- Drive positive employee engagement and promote a positive working environment
- Promote company culture, values and best practice across the business
- Provide advice and support to managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance issues
- Coordinate recruitment activities across the business
- Respond to HR related queries from colleagues and managers
- Support training coordination and apprenticeship programmes
- Assist in the delivery of key HR projects
- Promote and continuously improve HR services
- Support the successful delivery of all HR processes, policies and systems
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience working at HR Advisor / People Advisor level is essential
- Strong employee relations experience with sound knowledge of employment law
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proactive and positive approach with the ability to manage a busy generalist workload
- Experience of working with HRIS systems would be advantageous
- CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent would be beneficial
- A collaborative team player with a genuine passion for people and continuous improvement
