Placement Lead – Supported Accommodation

Location: Teesside

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of an amazing client across the North East for a passionate and motivated Placement Lead to join their team supporting young people within supported accommodation.

Are you ready to take the next step in your career in children’s social care?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support professional with leadership potential who wants to make a real difference while developing their management skills.

This isn’t an office‑based role! You’ll be actively involved in the day‑to‑day running of the service, working alongside young people and the staff team to ensure everyone receives the support, guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting the Registered Manager and Senior Placement Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the service.
  • Leading by example, motivating staff and promoting high standards of practice.
  • Providing hands‑on support, including 1:1 and floating support to young people.
  • Helping young people develop independence, life skills, confidence and positive relationships.
  • Supporting safeguarding, risk assessments, support plans and positive outcomes.
  • Assisting with staff supervisions, appraisals, coaching and development.
  • Maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, Ofsted requirements and company policies.
  • Supporting audits, quality assurance, admissions and transitions.
  • Working collaboratively with social workers, local authorities and other professionals.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working with children or young people, or relevant transferable experience within social care.
  • Experience providing direct support, including 1:1 support.
  • An understanding of safeguarding, risk management and the needs of young people.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and support a team effectively.
  • A hands‑on, compassionate approach and a genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience would be advantageous, but we’re also keen to hear from experienced support workers who are ready to take that next step.

Relevant health and social care qualifications are desirable, alongside a willingness to undertake further training.

Working hours

  • Predominantly Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm.
  • Scheduled weekend management cover shared across the management team.
  • Flexibility to support the needs of a 24‑hour service, including additional support and on‑call duties where applicable.

What’s in it for you?

  • Mentoring and support from experienced senior managers.
  • Opportunities to develop your leadership and management skills.
  • Further training and professional development.
  • Increased responsibility and involvement in service development.
  • Potential career progression into senior management, including Senior Placement Manager opportunities, subject to performance and available vacancies.

Ready for your next step?

If you’re passionate about children’s social care, enjoy supporting and developing others, and want a role where you can make a genuine difference, we want to hear from you!
