The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Warrington area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.
Hours:12hr/day 4 on 4 off
Pay Rate
Days: Monday to Thursday β Β£17.15 / Friday to Sunday β Β£21.65 (rolled up holidays).
Nights: Monday to Thursday β Β£18.40 / Friday to Sunday β Β£22.62 (rolled up holidays).
Location:Warrington, WA5.
Job Type: Ongoing position.
The role:
Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations.
Safely manoeuvre vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
Assist with other yard duties as needed.
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers\β hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.
Full understanding of WTD legislation.
Excellent communication skills.
A safety-first mindset.
