The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Wolverhampton area. We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Shunter to join the team on nights.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 19:00pm - 04:30am.
Location: Wolverhampton, WV4
Pay: £17.30 per hour PAYE
Job Type: Temp/ongoing
The role:
- Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations; please note that drivers will be required to conduct duties between two other locations close by (WV14 & WV4).
- Safely maneuver vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
- Conduct pre and post operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
- Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
- Assist with other yard duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C&E).
- 2 years experience required.
- Tug experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
- Full understanding of WTD legislation.
- Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A safety-first mindset.
