The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known and established distribution business based in Northampton. We are looking for multiple Van Drivers to join the team on a 6-week temp to perm basis for the right candidates.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking to secure a stable, long-term position with genuine opportunities for progression. Following successful completion of the 6-week temporary period, suitable candidates will have the opportunity to secure a permanent position with the client.
Location: Northampton, NN4 7PW
Job Type: 6 Week Temp to Perm for the Right Candidates
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour PAYE
Hours & Shift Patterns:
- Monday to Friday 08:00 start on Mondays
- 07:30 starts Tuesday to Friday
- 45 hours per week
- Finish times are approximately 17:30, depending on the completion of deliveries
- No weekend working
- No bank holiday working
The Role:
- Completing an average of approximately 45 delivery stops per shift
- Delivering to a mixture of commercial and residential locations (approximately 80% commercial and 20% residential deliveries)
- Completing both one-man and two-man deliveries
- Delivering a wide variety of products, including coils, radiators, pipes and other goods
- Heavy lifting and manual handling will be required as part of the role
- Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time
- Providing excellent customer service at all delivery locations
- Completing all required vehicle checks and delivery paperwork
Requirements:
- Valid UK driving licence
- Previous van driving or multi-drop delivery experience is desirable
- Comfortable completing heavy lifting and manual handling
- Ability to work independently and as part of a two-person delivery team
- Reliable, professional and committed approach to work
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage a busy delivery schedule effectively
