We are working with a growing renewable energy contractor that is seeking an experienced Solar PV Electrician to join its expanding team. This role will focus on the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Solar PV systems on new build residential developments across Hampshire and the surrounding areas. The Role
As a Solar PV Electrician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality solar installations, ensuring all systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install Solar PV systems on new build properties, including panel mounting, wiring, and inverter setup.
- Carry out electrical connections in accordance with current wiring regulations (BS 7671).
- Test, inspect, and commission Solar PV systems to ensure safe and optimal performance.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans.
- Coordinate with site managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
- Maintain exceptional health and safety standards on-site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation or performance issues.
- Complete commissioning documentation, testing certificates, and handover packs.
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Experience installing or working with Solar PV systems.
- Strong knowledge of current electrical and building regulations.
- ECS or CSCS Card.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Level 3 Award in Solar PV Installation or equivalent certification.
Desirable
- Previous experience working on construction sites or new build housing developments.
