The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Chelmsford area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.
Hours: Shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12pm to 9pm.

Pay Rate: £17.20 to £24.44 per hour PAYE.
Location: Chelmsford, CM2
Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.
The role: Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub. Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot. Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot. Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle. Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries. Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position. Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
- At least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
- Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
- Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
- Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
- Full understanding of WTD legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
