HGV Class 1 Driver in Barnsley, South Yorkshire

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers (C&E) on behalf of our client based in Barnsley.

Hours:Choose your own days of work and start times from 9am through to 11pm, please note you must be able to work every other Friday OR Sunday.

Pay Rates:

• (AFTERS PAYE):Monday to Thursday £16.87, Friday £17.60, Saturday £18.29 & Sunday £18.61
• (AFTERS ROLLEDUP):Monday to Thursday £18.91, Friday £19.72, Saturday £20.50, Sunday £20.86
• (NIGHTS): Monday to Thursday £17.59, Friday £18.10, Saturday £20.69 & Sunday £21.96 PAYE
• (NIGHTS ROLLEDUP):Monday to Thursday £19.71, Friday £20.28, Saturday £23.19, Sunday £24.61

Location:Barnsley, S74.

Job Type: Long-term, ongoing.

The role:

• Trunking to one depot, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels.
• Working every Friday OR Sunday dependant on your choice.
• Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

• Ability to work every Friday or Sunday unless on leave.
• At least 6 months\’ HGV driving experience.
• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Successful completion of practical / theory assessment.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
