The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Rugby area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team. This is also a fantastic opportunity for new pass drivers as full training is offered to prepare new drivers for the assessment.

Hours: Nights across Monday to Sunday with various start times available, average shift length of 12 hours.

Pay Rates:

  • Monday - Thursday: £17.60 PAYE / £19.72 With Holiday Pay
  • Friday: £18.31 PAYE / £20.52 With Holiday Pay
  • Saturday: £19.55 PAYE / £21.91 With Holiday Pay
  • Sunday: £20.63 PAYE / £23.12 With Holiday Pay

Location: Rugby, CV23.

Job Type: Long term ongoing.

The role: Trunking between depots, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels. Collect parcels from well-known customers, including full trailer collections, drop and swap operations. Handle occasional push roller cages as needed, assisting sites with movement when required. Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision, including shunting duties when required. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards. Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road. Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

  • 6 months experience needed!
  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset.
