Our Client are a market-leading business in the Parcel Distribution sector. We are currently looking for a Nightshift Manager to take the reigns of the Night Shift at their Carlisle Depot.

The Role

The purpose of your role is to ensure a smooth running, legally compliant and cost-efficient nightshift operation within a Hub environment. You will focus on leading teams of Supervisors, Night Loaders, Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites into smaller geographic areas to be delivered to the final customer. You will also be fully accountable for the performance of the shift whilst proactively seeking ways to improve cost, service & operational efficiency.

The Candidate

  • Manage all areas of the night warehouse sortation in an efficient cost-effective manner.
  • Ensuring depot key KPIs are achieved e.g. sortation compliance, Vehicle Departure times etc.
  • Budget Management to achieve the agreed service levels including productivity, labour costs, overtime usage, Agency usage.
  • To lead, coach and develop the supervisors on shift.
  • To adhere to the legal requirements of the O License.
  • Transport knowledge, skills or experience including regulations.
  • Management experience of leading and managing a team.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines.
  • PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Experienced of working in fast-paced logistics.
  • Good communicator and able to liaise at all levels.
