Hours: Flexible around business needs across Monday - Friday. Start times range from 10am-4pm
Pay Rates:
- (PAYE 6AM onwards): Monday to Friday £16.21, Saturday £17.87 & Sunday £18.20
- (PAYE 2PM onwards): Monday to Friday £16.87, Saturday £18.29, Sunday £18.61
- (PAYE 10PM onwards): Monday to Friday £17.59, Saturday £20.69 & Sunday £21.96
Location: Barnsley, S74.
Job Type: Ongoing.
The role:
- Trunking caged goods between depots, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels. Maximum 5 stops a shift.
- Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
- Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
- Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Class 2 entitlement (category C+E).
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- 3 months experience needed.
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
- Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.
- Full understanding of WTD legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A safety-first mindset.
