The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Rugby area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT CE) to join the team across AM Shifts. This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced drivers and new passes to join a professional, supportive, and fast-paced transport operation during the peak period.

Shift Patterns

  • AM Shift: 06:00 - 14:00
  • Average shift length: 12 hours
  • Operation runs Monday to Sunday full-time and part-time shifts available.

Base Rate (PAYE)

  • AM: Monday to Thursday - £15.50
  • Friday - £16.46
  • Saturday - £16.76
  • Sunday - £19.55

Base Rate (Holidays included)

  • AM: Monday to Thursday - £17.37
  • Friday - £18.45
  • Saturday - £18.78
  • Sunday - £21.99

Key Responsibilities

  • Trunking between depots, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels.
  • Collecting from well-known customers, including full trailer collections, drop and swap operations.
  • Occasional handling of push roller cages as required.
  • Precise reversing and manoeuvring in yards, including shunting duties when needed.
  • Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Adhering to traffic laws, regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 (CE) entitlement.
  • Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Maximum of 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Newly qualified drivers welcome.
  • Successful completion of assessment (theory & practical).
  • Understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a safety-first mindset.
