Our client, a market leading IPP on large scale Solar PV and BESS projects, is looking to add an experienced O&M Service Technician to the team. Responsibilities
- As a Senior Service Technician, you'll be the go-to expert responsible for keeping the solar and BESS sites running safely, efficiently and at peak performance.
- You'll work closely with regional colleagues, control engineers and asset operations teams to diagnose faults, carry out planned maintenance, and ensure the sites remain safe, compliant and high performing.
- This role includes responding to planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, resolution and reporting.
- This role requires participation in a weekend on-call rota.
- The successful candidate will need to be based in Essex.
Duties
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical and structural systems.
- Diagnosing and resolving faults across Solar PV & BESS assets.
- Completing inspections, reports, work orders and maintaining strong site records.
- Managing site and vehicle stock, ensuring safe site inductions and supporting safe systems of work.
- Supervising contractors, delivering site inductions and supporting safe systems of work.
- Taking part in an on-call rota (weekends).
- Traveling occasionally to other regions, including overnight stays when required.
- Taking part in training and the opportunity to oversee training.
Required Skills
- Qualified Electrician or Electrical Engineer (BS7671).
- 2391/52 or working towards.
- Strong background in Solar PV installation and maintenance, utility scale is ideal.
- Experience with inverters/PCS (SMA, Sungrow, Power Electronics, Gamsea ETC) highly desirable.
- HV experience preferred (switchgear, transformers, AP/SAP training up to 33kV advantage).
- Full clean UK driving license.
- Proactive attitude, good communications.
