The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Tyneside. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT CE) to join the team.
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 08:30am start Pay Rates (PAYE): • £16.36 per hour Locations: Gateshead, NE11 Job Type: Ongoing The role: Collections and deliveries Drivers need to be willing to drive Class 2 and 7.5 Tonne (paid at Class 1 rate) Manual handling required as drivers will assist with loading and unloading parcels at depots and customers locations. Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections / deliveries. Operating devices and company software to update delivery status and to communicate with the depot.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards. Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road. Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups Requirements: Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category CE). Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle. Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only). Full understanding of WTD legislation. Excellent communication skills. A safety-first mindset.
