Key Responsibilities

  • Care Co-ordination and Rota Management
    • Plan, organise and manage daily care staff rotas to ensure all service user visits are covered.
    • Match care staff to service users based on individual needs, experience, skills, availability and continuity of care.

    • Communicate rota changes effectively to care staff, service users and the management team.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service user and employee records.

    • Respond to enquiries and concerns professionally, promptly and compassionately.
    • Help ensure care is delivered in accordance with individual care plans and service user requirements.
    • Provide guidance and support to care staff when issues arise during care visits.
    • Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns, incidents and changes in service user needs.
    • Work closely with the management team to maintain service quality and continuity of care.
  • Compliance and Administration
    • Ensure care records, rotas and relevant documentation are maintained accurately.
    • Support compliance with company policies, safeguarding procedures and relevant care regulations.
    • Assist with care plan updates, reviews, audits and quality monitoring as required.
    • Maintain confidentiality and ensure sensitive information is handled appropriately.
    • Support the continuous improvement of the service and promote a person-centred approach to care.
  • On-Call Responsibilities and Additional Payments
    • Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota is an integral part of this position.
    • The successful candidate will participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota, sharing responsibility with three other colleagues.
    • This means you will typically be responsible for on-call duties one week in every four, covering agreed evenings and weekends.
    • On-call responsibilities include:
      • Providing telephone support to care staff outside normal office hours.
      • Managing urgent staffing issues, sickness and last-minute rota changes.
      • Ensuring essential care visits are covered and service users continue to receive the support they require.
      • Responding to urgent service user concerns and escalating serious incidents appropriately.
      • Attending service users or care locations outside normal working hours when required.
      • Ensuring all incidents and actions are documented and handed over appropriately.

On-Call Payment Package

£100 weekly on-call bonus for each week you are allocated to the on-call rota. Additional out-of-hours attendance bonus for any call-outs requiring you to physically attend outside your normal working hours during your on-call week. The additional attendance bonus will be paid separately from the weekly on-call bonus, in accordance with the agreed payment arrangements.
