An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Manager to lead and manage the delivery of a professional, responsive, and compliant HR service within a growing education organisation.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, the HR Manager will oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, absence management, performance management, payroll administration, workforce planning, and HR compliance.

The role will provide expert HR advice and support to managers, ensuring employment best practice and legal compliance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations and employee relations casework.
  • Provide advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, safer recruitment, and induction processes.
  • Coordinate performance management, probation, attendance management, and staff wellbeing initiatives.
  • Oversee HR systems, employee records, reporting, and workforce data analysis.
  • Support organisational change projects, restructures, consultations, and workforce planning activities.
  • Liaise with payroll, occupational health, legal advisors, and external HR partners.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, employment law, data protection, and regulatory requirements.
  • Line manage HR team members and drive continuous improvement of HR processes and service delivery.

About You

  • Experienced HR professional with strong generalist HR expertise.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases and advising managers.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice, and HR systems.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) desirable.
