We are looking for a maintenance technician for our Legacy Business department at Kempston (regular travel is required primarily across Heathrow Airport). The technician will work on electrical maintenance and repair services for airport equipment: battery systems.
- Working on electrical panels, airport-related electrical systems, and battery-powered machinery, ensuring their optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and malfunctions in industrial equipment and battery-powered machinery.
- Install, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, including control panels, wiring, and circuit boards.
- Disassemble components, inspect for quality factors, and reassemble to OEM specifications.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance.
- Meticulously document all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions utilizing computer-based Maintenance Information Systems (MIS).
- Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce downtime.
- Ensure proper safety while operating equipment on-site.
- Implementing and enforcing quality control and safety measures during repair and maintenance activities.
- Professional interaction and coordinating with internal departments and external customers.
Required profile:
- Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance, including electrical panel (distribution board) work and battery maintenance.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, and wiring installations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical drawings, and blueprints.
- Experience with troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repairs.
- Certification in industrial electrical work or equivalent qualifications.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
