We are seeking an experienced GSE Technician to join a high-performing engineering team at Heathrow Airport. This role offers the chance to work in one of the UK's busiest and most dynamic airport environments, maintaining and repairing a wide range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) essential to aircraft operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of GSE, including:
- Aircraft tow tractors
- Ground power units (GPU)
- Air start and air conditioning units
- Baggage and cargo handling equipment
- Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs)
- Respond to breakdowns and operational call-outs across the airfield
- Ensure all work is completed in line with HSE and aviation compliance standards
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities
What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Vehicle Maintenance
- Experience working on: GSE, HGVs, plant equipment, or similar heavy machinery
- Strong fault-finding ability across:
- Diesel engines
- Hydraulics
- Electrical systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical airport environment
- Full UK driving licence (C1 or HGV licence advantageous)
Shift Pattern
- Rotating shifts (early / late / nights depending on operation)
- Overtime opportunities available
